Mrs. SteinCathy Stein—Lead Teacher

Mrs. Stein is an easy going person who loves being with family and friends. She loves the outdoors, music, reading, sewing projects & making quilts whenever she may have free time. She is active with her church and loves it and the freedoms her country give her. Mrs. Stein has two children of her own at home and has been happily married for almost 32 years.

Mrs. Stein has always loved children and has worked with them most of her adult life.  She started her own childcare business, in her home, 24 years ago and continued that for 15 years before moving to Denver.  When she moved to Denver in 1999, Mrs. Stein began working for Knowledge Learning Corporation (which was KinderCare) for 8 years until she began teaching at CVA Preschool, for the St. Vrain School District in 2007.

Along with her years of hands-on experience teaching children, Mrs. Stein has had continuing education courses including recent classes in Early Childhood Education, at Front Range Community College.
Mrs. Stein loves to see the world through the eyes of a child and it gives her much joy to watch little children learn and grow.  They continue to make her feel younger than she is and she looks forward to teaching your children here at the Carbon Valley Academy Preschool!

Mrs. SpringerHallie Springer—Lead Teacher

Mrs. Springer has been married to her husband, Chuck, for 21 years. They have six children, three boys (ages 18, 16, 11) and three beautiful little girls (9, 8 and 6). They have lived in the Firestone area for nine years and love the small town.

Mrs. Springer began her preschool teaching when her youngest son was preschool age. She opened a small in-home preschool and ran all aspects of that school for four years. She ended up taking an unplanned break when they decided their family wasn’t quite complete and adopted three little girls. When the girls were all in school and she was ready, Mrs. Springer went looking for a job close to home. CVA Preschool is the perfect fit for her and her family. She could not ask for anything more!

Ms. Slepicka—Lead Teacher

Ms. Slepicka is the newest member to our team at CVA Preschool.  She was born and raised here in Colorado and moved to the Frederick area about 10 years ago.  She has spent her entire career working with children and pursing her degree in Early Childhood Education as well as Emergency Medicine.  Ms. Slepicka has two amazing daughters ages 16 and 12.  Together they love to camp, fish, water ski and just spend time together as a family.  She is excited about the opportunity to work for CVA and it's youngest students.

Mrs. LockhartGina Lockhart—Preschool Aide

Mrs. Lockhart has lived here in Colorado her whole life. She has been happily married to her husband, Scott, for 17 years and they have a wonderful son named Trevor.  The Lockharts moved to Frederick 5 years ago and fell in love with the town and the wonderful people.

Mrs. Lockhart worked for Bank of the West for 20 years and held many different positions with them.  When Trevor started at Carbon Valley Academy, she began volunteering as much as possible. She enjoyed working with the children and especially enjoyed working with the preschoolers. Three years later, Mrs. Lockhart and her husband decided it was a good time to make the leap of faith and she left her career at the bank. Mrs. Lockhart feels very fortunate to be able to help out with Carbon Valley Preschool. She believes in what she does and is dedicated to the children. She loves working with them! There is nothing more satisfying to her than helping a child and seeing them laugh, learn, and grow.

When not working, Mrs. Lockhart enjoys spending time with her large extended family. She loves camping, reading and working in the garden.
