Mr. TonyTony Carey—Executive Director

"Mr. Tony" was a founding Board member and is our school's current Executive Director. Originally from England, Mr. Tony was transferred to the United States in 1978 by Swiss multinational AGIE s.a. He brings more than 30 years of business and managerial experience to our school.

The Careys are long term residents of Frederick where Mr. Tony also serves as Mayor Pro Tem. Along with 7th grader Nick, the Carey family likes to travel, and are long time Rockies fans.

Mrs. JansenJodi Jansen—Preschool Director

Mrs. Jansen has been with Carbon Valley Academy Preschool since its inception. She brings with her a passion for working with young children as well as 20 years of experience teaching preschoolers.

Mrs. Jansen studied business at the University of Northern Colorado and worked in the banking industry for 10 years. She left banking to operate her own licensed preschool while returning to school to obtain her Early Childhood Teacher and Large Center Director certification.

Mrs. Jansen is a Colorado native who has been married to her high school sweetheart for 26 years. They have 3 children: 24, 19 and 16. In her spare time, Mrs. Jansen enjoys spending time with her family and new puppy, Bentley, and working on her scrapbooks.

Mrs. SteinCathy Stein—Lead Teacher

Mrs. Stein loves children and has been involved in caring for and teaching them since 1984. She has been an Early Childhood Teacher with CVA since September of 2007 and has loved teaching the children in this tri-town area. Preschool age children have always been her favorite age to teach even though she enjoys seeing the world through all children's eyes!

When not teaching, Mrs. Stein loves to read, camp and travel to new places with her family. She is married to her best friend and they will celebrate their 34th anniversary this fall. She has one son in college and her baby girl is a sophomore this year. She cares for her 84 yr. old mother who lives with them now too. To sum Mrs. Stein up would be to say she loves her family, her country and its freedoms, and to have preschool children around her to keep her feeling young!

Dani Morgan—Lead Teacher

Mrs. Morgan has worked with children and families for over 25 years. She started in a Denver childcare center when she was 15 1/2 and worked there until she was married and moved with her husband to Las Vegas, Nevada in 1993. In 1995, Mrs. Morgan received a B.A. degree with an emphasis in Social Work from UNLV. A year later she was taken back to Colorado and she began working in the field of her degree where she stayed for 6 years. After seeing so many children so badly abused, Mrs. Morgan could not continue to work in such a dismal job. She felt her place in this world and her true calling was teaching preschool! She opened and in-home childcare center/preschool while taking classes to become director qualified for the state of Colorado.  At that time she also started working for the Brighton Recreation Center as the children's dance and tumbling instructor. She still teaches at the rec center on evenings and weekends! Now that her four daughters are a little older (19, 15, 12, and 8) she has decided to head back into the working world. Mrs. Morgan was lucky enough to find Carbon Valley Academy Preschool where she looks forward to teaching for years to come!

Mrs. Silbernagel—Preschool Aide

Mrs. Silbernagel moved to Colorado in 1996 from Canada. She has 3 children who have attended CVA since its opening in 2005. Mrs. Silbernagel had spent countless hours volunteering in her children's classrooms until she was hired as a Preschool Teacher's Assistant. She has completed her 3980 hours and is now Group Leader Qualified. She brings a well organized and caring attitude with her and is a welcome asset to our Preschool.

Mrs. LockhartGina Lockhart—Preschool Aide

Mrs. Lockhart has lived here in Colorado her whole life. She has been happily married to her husband, Scott, for 17 years and they have a wonderful son named Trevor.  The Lockharts moved to Frederick 5 years ago and fell in love with the town and the wonderful people.

Mrs. Lockhart worked for Bank of the West for 20 years and held many different positions with them.  When Trevor started at Carbon Valley Academy, she began volunteering as much as possible. She enjoyed working with the children and especially enjoyed working with the preschoolers. Three years later, Mrs. Lockhart and her husband decided it was a good time to make the leap of faith and she left her career at the bank. Mrs. Lockhart feels very fortunate to be able to help out with Carbon Valley Preschool. She believes in what she does and is dedicated to the children. She loves working with them! There is nothing more satisfying to her than helping a child and seeing them laugh, learn, and grow.

When not working, Mrs. Lockhart enjoys spending time with her large extended family. She loves camping, reading and working in the garden.
